The Monterey Pops presented a star-spangled salute to veterans on November 8th at our Stanton Theater. An enthusiastic audience welcomed them and enjoyed both patriotic songs and music from around the world. King City High School advanced band members joined the Pops in playing two pieces composed by Dr. David Bakken, KCHS band director. Tsunami and Bradbury 411 are exciting pieces and were much enjoyed by both musicians and audience members. A special thanks goes to John and Karen Jernigan for hosting the Pops players at a reception prior to the concert. This was their first visit to King City since before the pandemic. They are eager to return next year, and we are eager to have them!
